Weighing scale glass is made of toughened glass. Toughened tempered glass is often used in applications where using standard glass could pose a potential danger. Toughened tempered glass is stronger than standard glass and does not shatter into large shards when broken. This is important, because small shards can greatly minimize potential danger in the case of a break. Feihong set a standard of the fragment state in 50*50mm to judge if it’s qualified toughened tempered glass based on global Electrolux oven glass Standard, GE standard, BSH Standard, British BS3193 Standard, etc. Manufactured through a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling, toughened tempered glass is much harder than normal glass.

Please Note :

The specification of weighing scale glass should be confirmed before put the sheet glass into the toughening furnace, the

tempered glass can't be cut anymore after out of the toughening furnace, otherwise it will be broken.

Weighing scale glass manufacturing process

Toughened glass is thermally stronger than the normal glass. The glass undergoes intense stress due to which, the strength of glass increases. This glass is made through thermal tempering process where the annealed glass is heated at or above 720 degrees and soon after it reaches the heating point, cooling process is performed. The glass thus becomes strong and stressed.

Advantages of tempered glass for weighing scale:

Impact resistance: the impact strength of tempered glass with the same thickness is 3-5 times of that of ordinary glass, and the bending strength is 3-5 times of that of ordinary glass. Quality Inspection Item

1, Appearance, In the daytime (or in the case of similar brightness), observe weighing scale glass vertically for 5 seconds with naked eyes or with the aid of glasses from a distance of 50cm or a distance of one arm length. No dirt or scratch, edge and corner, printing effect.

2, Printing appearance: the weighing scale glass printing area (ink covered area) of the control panel is judged under the condition that the back has opaque cover (black background), and under the black background, it is acceptable that the front is invisible.

3, Evenness: bow shape ≤ 0.5%; there is one place (one peak and one trough) allowed for every 610mm of waveform;

4, Granularity test: two pieces of weighing scale glass are selected for each batch of glass to be tested, and the place where the center of the long side of the glass plate is 13mm higher than the bottom edge is taken as the breaking point (see figure). After the glass is broken, the two areas with the largest granularity are selected in a 50mm*50mm box for counting. The number of crack-free particles completely contained in the 50mm*50mm box must be ≥50, and the largest particle size must be ≤ 15 mm * 8 mm.

5, Impact test: drop a steel ball with a diameter of 51mm and a weight of 535g from the glass surface 648mm, and impact the center of the glass plate once to ensure that the glass does not break.
